We're back!! Sorry! Had some problem with some malicious files. The host didn't offer to fix it, as that's not a service they provide. I seem to have sorted it now.

I joined UWO after seeing it mentioned in the shoutbox. I wanted to join it a few years ago but never got 'round to it. University kinda got in the way. I joined now. There was only one server, or world, called Maris, so I went with that one.
I'm Munch, too! It's been a while since I've been a Munch, to the point where I no longer even try now and just go straight for Feodaran. But I'm a Munch! I might make another character called Feodaran just so no genius here decides to take it.
And, of course, I'm English. I chose the military class at the start. I feel like such a noob!
The intro is a bit annoying. Can't seem to skip it, all of that news and info and stuff before you even get to select the world.
Anyway, I'm just saying this to see if I can find anyone. For those who don't have it, check out the stickied topic on this board, or go here:https://uwo.papayaplay.com/uwo.do?tp=download
Register on the site.
Anyway...Egg! Pan! Waar zijn jullie?!
Should I have gone with the military thing? Should I have gone for one of the other two? Can't remember what they were. Trader (or merchant) and adventurer, maybe. Feodaran could be that. But Feodaran's name comes from a fire dragon so he should be a military person, too.

A meteorite exploded over Russia earlier today. Hundreds of people have been injured (mostly shattered glass) and now over
100 people hospitalised. The article says 474 injured but on the site that I found this article on a comment said over
Some nice videos in that link. Might want to turn your speakers down though on some of them with including the explosion.
I wish it happened on 21st December 2012. It'd have been space (or God's) way of trolling the doomsday believers.
It's said that there's no record of anyone being killed by a meteorite. Would be a nice way to die, by making history. Although if you wake up in an afterlife you might have a nasty headache.

SA-MP 0.3x has been released recently.
Here are some of the improvements/changes:
- Based on feedback, changes that were made to GTA:SA's streaming memory during 0.3x RC2 have been removed. The SA-MP client will continue to use 128MB of streaming memory, as it has done since SA-MP 0.2.
- Final netcode tweaks before release.
- Fixes for Kick() function not always notifying player that they have been kicked.
- Fixes "floating player attachments" problem. Player attachments would sometimes be seen floating, not connected to any player.
- The SA-MP nametag can now show the alt-tab/paused status of a player. Use the client command /nametagstatus to toggle this feature on/off.
- Some modified versions of hair and hat objects added.
See here for more details on the new release:http://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=405580
Here is a link to the new version:http://files.sa-mp.com/sa-mp-0.3x-R1-install.exe
It's recommended that you don't update your client until Egg_Shen updates the server, otherwise you won't be able to play for a while (because Egg's a lazy muncher
There's no R1 server release so I'm guessing R3 is the one you'll need for servers, so here's a link to R3 (which can be found at the bottom of Kye's post in the link):http://www.sa-mp.com/stuff/03xRC/samp03x_svr_RC3_win32.zip

Now we are going to finish off the banner contest by voting for the best banner. I am going to list the banners from the "final submissions" topic, and lock both previous topics. The voting will last until the 27th of December at the latest. If we don't get a great deal of votes or there are ties then it'll probably go down to personal opinion. If there are a fair few votes and there are ties then I'll make a separate poll for the tied banners.
Here are the images that you will be voting for. The number reference above each image will be the same as the number in the poll. So voting for #1 will vote for the banner below that has #1 by it.

Okay here you can submit your final designs. You can submit more than one design. I'll leave the other topic open so you can get feedback there but here are the final submissions, the finished pieces.
I'll copy important bits from the other topic so you know what you should aim for:
What should be in it:
The banner must have "STONED FreeRoam" displayed in it (or all capitals like the current banner).
The banner's resolution must be around the area of 1137 x 120 (pixels). It can be slightly larger than that if you want but there's no need to go any wider.
If you win, you get mentioned on the front page and you a personal membergroup and you get moderator rights of that group.
I'll make a new topic for votes when I can be bothered after some time when I think enough people have submitted. It'll probably be a while like the other topic.

SA-MP 0.3e has been released. I haven't seen a topic about it so here it is.
See here for information on the new version:http://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=323271
Currently it is mainly a security update but there are features planned for further RC releases.
You'll want to wait until Egg_Shen updates the server to 0.3e before updating yourself or you'll be without STONED for a while.
Download the new client here:http://www.sa-mp.com/download.php

There is a bit of an issue with bandwidth usage and I will probably have to wait until Tuesday before anything happens.
This site could go down sometime tomorrow (11th March 2012).
I'll probably get hassled about it happening anyway, when it does. This topic is mainly just wishful thinking by me, hoping that I won't have to explain it to people when it happens until the site's back up.

I will be switching to a new host when my time with the current host runs out, which will be the 27th of January. When my next payment with them is due, and I cancel my account with them, the site will be down until I get the new host. This shouldn't be too long, only a couple days...depending on how soon the new host will activate my account with them.
Every year I do a post alerting people of some down time when the next payment is due, and every year I still get people hassling me about why the forum is down when it actually does go down. Because of this, on the 26th I'll put the site on maintenance mode and it'll mention the down time. I'll probably still get people bothering me when it goes down but I might get lucky and it'll decrease the number of those people.
The tl;dr version:
On the 26th of January the site will be in maintenance mode to make my life slightly easier during the downtime on the 27th of January and possibly 28th.

After recent discussions regarding the current site banner we have decided to start a banner contest to give you the chance to decide the banner.
Every member on this forum is allowed to enter this contest and show off his or her skills.
What should be in it:
- The banner must have "STONED FreeRoam" displayed in it (or all capitals like the current banner).
- The banner's resolution must be around the area of 1137 x 120 (pixels). It can be slightly larger than that if you want but there's no need to go any wider.
The person who is able to create the most cool, awesome, sick, nice looking banner gets nothing!
However, you do get to show off your creation to the world, and you will be given credit for it by having your name added on the home page as the creator of the new "STONED FreeRoam" banner. I'll also throw in a personal membergroup, also making you the moderator of that group and allowing you to choose who can and can't be in the membergroup.
PS: If you can think of any other prize (no money!) for winning then feel free to suggest it.
STONED FreeRoam Team
When submitting your final pieces, you are allowed to submit more than one banner.
The contest will stop in the 3rd week of January 2012 and after you have submitted your finished designs a poll will be created so that the community will be able to decide on the banner.

Okay...test number 2. Hopefully no white screens this time that takes a couple hours to fix.
« on: December 12, 2011, 09:18:44 AM »
I'm testing to see if this goes to the FB app page. It should do.

SA-MP 0.3d has been released. It has the client and server update. If you wish to go on STONED in the near future I advise you not to update just yet and wait for Egg_Shen to get round to doing it.
On the topic regarding this version Kye has appeared to release several builds of it before releasing the whole thing and feels the need to mention it so there's quite a bit to look through, most of which won't matter to normal players.
Here's a short list he's provided for the features/fixes/updates on 0.3d:
Changes for SA-MP 0.3d:
- Support for Shoutcast/Icecast audio streams
- All misson sounds (IDs greater than 2000) from GTA:SA single player can now be used with PlayerPlaySound
- RemoveBuildingForPlayer can be used to remove any building or object from the game
- Fixed issue with radar jumping up and down while passengering in a vehicle
- Fixed quite a few issues with the vehicle sync which might cause vehicles to warp or to appear to be moving sideways
- Fixed problems with the motorbike/pushbike sync
- Fixed surfing on train carriages
- MAX_OBJECTS has been increased to 1000
- MAX_PICKUPS has been increased to 4096
- The frame limiter will now default to 50 fps
- Fixed some small issues with the vehicle exiting animation
- Fixed game crashes related to escalators
- Server has a feature to monitor internal frame rate in the network stats string
- Fixed an issue where you might respawn on top of the last vehicle you were surfing
- Removed the PED FACTALK animation from showing up in GetPlayerAnimationIndex
- Fixed the collision on the elevator model which would allow you to jump out while it was moving down

This is a small notice to those who use the default SMF theme.
I will be deleting a couple folders in the FTP that contain this same theme (for older versions). This is to make up a bit of space (although I don't need it) and to save confusion every time I want to make a change.
I will be deleting the folders this Friday, around 6pm BST (GMT+0) and setting everyone's theme to the forum default's theme (incase, for some reason, some members are using an older theme).
For those of you that use the default SMF theme you will have to set it to that theme again, or ask me and I'll set it for you.

It was done a couple days ago, but I never announced it (besides on the shoutbox), and I wanted to sort a couple things out first (such as the application name).
This site is now connected to Facebook! I originally just looked for a thumbs up feature so you could approve (or disapprove) of a post, but found the FB like feature. The feature didn't show itself, so I thought of just connecting FB to the site.
I looked on Google and found an SMF mod that connects FB to this site. There was a small issue when installing it, so I looked on the mod's support topic on SMF forum to see anything on it. The topic had 73 pages, and so instead of looking through I was going to just message Sleepy. I then noticed, on page 2 of the topic, that someone said "congrats on the mod Sleepy", and the mod creator's name is SA (Sleepy Arcade!). I didn't know Sleepy was behind the mod, but it made it better when I messaged him.
He fixed the issue preventing me from installing it and created the application on Facebook because Facebook kept giving me an error message when I tried making it. It still gives me the error.
So yeah, stonedfreeroam.com is connected to Facebook! To connect your account, you need to go to Profile, then click on the Facebook Connect button. You have to be logged in to Facebook (on the computer you're using) to connect the account. You must also allow the application on Facebook. After doing this, you can edit your FB account on the forum. You can update your status (don't know why you'd want to), edit your profile information and like this site (by liking the application).
You can also like topics on the forum, which will be mentioned on your account's wall, you can share a topic, and also publish a topic or post you created (click Additional Options and check the "Publish Post On Facbook" box. And yes, that is a typo from the mod itself.
Sleepy also made it so that you can view the site from Facebook. New members can also register with their FB account.
