BAN Method

  • When you /ban (id) a player, if he change his IP, he can rejoin. Then, I think banning the nickname+Ip would be good. This mean, if the player IP its banned, cant join and/or the Nickname its banned the same.

     ::)

    /banI = Ban IP
    /banN = Ban Name
    /ban = Band IP/Name

  • The real problem is that people who get banned change their IP and come back, and if we ban them again, they will change the IP AGAIN and again and come back...

    What we need (if we don't have this already) is a range ban script, where all the IPs within the player IPs range get banned...

    So for example, if the player's IP was 88.54.6.4, a range ban would ban all the IPs from 88.54.0.0 to 88.54.255.255 or something like that.

    The disadvantage is that if other players use the same IP range (e.g. people with the same ISP or who live near the banned player) they will also be banned.

    Also Strike, having two ban commands (one for name and one for IP) is only useful is maybe another player wants to use the name of a person who got banned... I don't know if this is really of any use. I mean, who would want to use a name such as George_Bangle anyway, whut kind of name is that...

    Sorry for my essay, I like writing :(

  • The problem with that is he can just change his IP and name. No ban evader with any sense would use the same name when changing IP.

  • I think one way would be: When you ban a player, the first 2 blocks of IP and the nickname can be saved as banned.

    Example: IP: 78.130.0.41 - Name: Superior1x

    When you banned him, saved its Superior1x and 78.130

    If "Superior1x" its your real nickname, dont worry, because that banned name dont match with the 78.130 banned ip

  • Theres a thing you can do on CoD4 where you can ban or kick their client id, aka the number they have so you can pm them, but it just kicks them by that so if they have a jumblefucked name it makes it easy.
